Dry Eye Syndrome (DES)

Dry Eye Syndrome is a chronic condition in which your eyes cannot produce enough tears to keep the eye lubricated. Tears are crucial to your eye health because they are responsible for ridding the cornea of any debris that may enter the eyes. Tears also protect the eye from infection-causing bacteria. There are many causes of Dry Eye Syndrome, including:

  • Aging or Hormonal Changes
  • Medications
  • Medical Conditions
  • Environmental Factors

Presbyopia

Presbyopia is a condition that emerges as we age. By the time you’re in your 40’s, it may become difficult to see up-close, even if you have had perfect vision you entire life or if you underwent LASIK. This is normal and a rather natural occurrence. As you age, the lens of your eye will become more flexible, which makes focusing on objects that are up-close a challenge. The degree of severity varies from person to person, but can be managed with prescription eyeglasses and/or contact lenses so you can see at all distances with ease.
