Eye Disease Management

Clarity of Vision for Life

Preserving the gift of eyesight is our greatest, most important goal, even if a patient has a certain eye disease. With our cutting edge and industry-leading optical technology, we are able to successfully diagnose and manage eye diseases such as Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration, and Diabetic Retinopathy early on. By diagnosing and treating early on, patients will reduce their risk of further complications and we can help them preserve their eyesight.

Glaucoma
Glaucoma is a group of eye diseases that damage the optic nerve due to higher pressure in the eye. Although it is the leading cause of vision loss and blindness, it is preventable if caught early, as symptoms go unnoticed until severe vision loss has already occurred, and vision cannot be restored.

Macular Degeneration
Macular Degeneration is an age-related eye disease that occurs when the macula, which gives us our central vision, is breaking down and weakening. Untreated ARMD is the leading cause of blindness in adults who are 65+ years old, but there are multiple preventative treatments.

Diabetic Retinopathy
Diabetic retinopathy occurs when the retina swells or leaks. Early symptoms aren’t very noticeable, so our diabetic patients must visit our Chalmette eye doctor once a year to ensure they are protected.
